Iowa & Minnesota
Minnesota is one of my favorite places to photograph families. The lakes, the birch forests, the wide Midwestern light — every season here has something extraordinary to offer. I travel throughout Minnesota for family sessions, bringing a candid, editorial approach that lets your family look exactly like yourselves.
The Approach
Most of the families I photograph in Minnesota are looking for one thing: photos that actually feel like them. Not everyone posed in coordinating outfits at a studio. Not stiff smiles in front of a neutral backdrop. Something real — the way your kids chase each other across the yard, the way you laugh at your partner's jokes, the way your dog keeps photobombing every single shot.
That's the kind of family photographer I am. I work on location, follow your family's energy rather than directing it, and make my best photographs by staying present and patient.
I travel throughout Minnesota from my base in Des Moines, Iowa — including the Twin Cities, Duluth, Rochester, Stillwater, and rural locations. If you have a location in mind, I'm open to it. Your family's favorite lake, your grandparents' property, a park that means something to you — those make the best sessions.

Session Seasons
Minnesota is beautiful year-round. Spring wildflowers, summer lake sessions, peak fall color, and first-snow winter sessions — each season has something worth photographing.
The Details
Sessions typically run 60 to 90 minutes. We'll meet at a location of your choosing — or I can suggest spots I know well — and spend that time simply being together while I document what unfolds. The kids don't need to perform. You don't need to pose.
Your edited gallery is delivered within three weeks in a private online portal. You'll receive high-resolution images with full print release — ready to print, share, and keep.
I work with all kinds of families in Minnesota — young children, multi-generational groups, blended families, families who just want something beautiful to mark a particular year. Every session is custom, relaxed, and photographed with care.
Travel is Always Included
Travel throughout Minnesota is always included. I don't add mileage fees or destination surcharges. Whether you're in the Twin Cities suburbs or on a quiet lake somewhere north of Brainerd, the rate is the same.
I believe geography shouldn't be a barrier to good photography. I'll come to wherever your family is.
